LTL (Less Than Truckload), Partial, and box truck transportation are all methods for shipping goods, with the key difference being the size and type of shipment. LTL is for smaller shipments consolidated on a truck, while Partial truckload is for larger shipments that don't fill an entire truck. Box trucks are enclosed vehicles, often used for LTL or smaller partial loads, offering flexibility in loading and unloading. (See Below for further details)
-
LTL
LTL (Less Than Truckload):
Suitable for smaller shipments that don't require a full truck.
Freight is consolidated with other shipments on the same truck.
Often involves multiple stops and handling, potentially increasing transit time and risk of damage.
Typically used for shipments under 5,000 lbs, or 1-6 pallets
-
PARTIAL
Partial Truckload (PTL):
For shipments too large for LTL but not needing a full truck.
Often involves 4-5 pallet spaces or 4,000-5,000+ pounds.
Fewer stops and less handling compared to LTL, potentially leading to faster transit times.
Can be a more cost-effective option than LTL for larger shipments

BOX TRUCK
Box Truck:
Enclosed trucks with a separate cab and cargo area.
Available in various sizes, including standard 26-foot lengths.
Often used for LTL or smaller partial loads, offering flexibility and ease of loading/unloading.
May include liftgates for easier loading and unloading of pallets.
